let me start out by giving a big fat middle finger to Sushi House on Biscayne for sending me and my girlfriends off with their bull crap "2 hour wait in an empty restaurant excuse." so after we were sent away, we decided to go to sushi sake since it was like five minutes away. we'd never been there and i was craving japanese food while they were craving sushi....yuck! the place is small but cute. there's only about 10 tables in the front with a sushi bar and two big booths towards the back. the staff is very easy going and friendly, especially our waiter, luke, he took our orders: sushi boat and fried rice for them, and hibachi salmon for me. what i liked about the menu was that you have a choice of fried or steamed rice with your meal, unlike most places where the fried rice is extra. another thing i liked was luke asking me how i'd like my salmon prepared. it really makes a difference! before my meal came, i had the choice of soup or salad and chose the miso. all miso soups are created equal, thank goodness. what really stuck out was the rice. pretty much the best fried rice i've had in a long time. i guess my friends liked the sushi...? i don't really recall caring at the time because i was busy devouring my food, while we were finishing up, the manager came out and asked us how everything was and was so nice to offer us complementary thai donuts with dipping sauces. sooo freakin' good. also, cotton candy comes with the check and we had more than enough to share. much better than nasty fortune cookies. i hate those things. anyway everything was fine except for the issues we had with splitting the checks for the sushi boat. also, one of my friends asked luke for eel sauce and he brought out four cups...not telling us that there was an extra fee for sauce! i'll be back but hopefully there will be no more surprises on the check!

Very good rolls, and decent Sushimi also. The place is small and doesn't have a lot of character, but we generally order for delivery by phone. The delivery people are always on time and courteous, and the sushi is very good for the price, and the fact that they deliver Compared to any other Sushi place that delivers, this is the best in the area.

So I'm a BIG fan of japanese food and sushi and things of that nature, and this place is by far, one of the best places I've eaten at. The prices are not as expensive as the atmosphere makes you believe. I got beef tetaki and a chicken teriyaki dinner for around $25, and the Kobe beef is to die for. There was nothing about this place I didn't like. The prices were good, the look is exquisite, there's ANOTHER one that I've been told is bigger and better! I've gotta find this place. This is definite first date material. I certainly give it my seal of approval.

Really bad food. Good Service, but the food was terrible. I ordered a Lunch special, the tuna was not fresh and with a kind of brown color, and the tuna roll was the thin of my baby finger, never in my life I've seen a sushi roll that thin.

Yum! I love their food. Their sushi is delicious and their pinapple fried rice is to die for... I dont know what sauce they bring out with it but I would eat put that in everything! I love that they give cotton candy at the end of meal

We had a great experience, from start to finish. I did hesitate in the beginning because it look a bit pricy but the bottom line it was worth it! We place an order over the phone for delivery, the delivery arrived on time and the food was DELICIOUS. Everything was fresh and testy. Highly recommend

My fiancé and I are Sushi Sake customers of various locations. We are obsessed with their Chicken Teriyaki, Gyozas, and now Calle 8 sushi roll. I'm in love with the sauce used for the chicken and even put it on the rice. As for the Calle 8 roll, we are not into sushi so we decided to try this roll. It's topped with a piece of plantain and potato stix. It has a ham croquette with a few other things. You should try it if you're not into sushi. Check out my pictures!

I love rice and I'm such a greedy person when it comes to it. So I went and ordered the pineapple rice bowl with no pineapples I don't particularly like the idea of sweet rice with chicken shrimp and steak. I must say there was more chicken than shrimp and steak combined. I'm pretty sure next time I can ask for more steak and pay extra. I didn't have any alcohol but I had the lemonade and it was everything. I will definitely be back.

Love this place. I really like how when I order they can tell what I like and make recommendations. They deliver and are open late! Food is fresh!

I love their chicken fired rice and salmon and cream cheese bagel rolls. Good service ok waiters. The waiters needs better training on how to treat their customers, but overall I'm addicted.

Had the Miami Heat Roll. The taste was good but it was really falling apart. Also tasted the spicy tuna roll and it was too spicy for me. I couldn't taste the tuna. The workers were very nice and welcoming; so nice I would try some different rolls another time.

  • Tervicine D.

Great location, nice decor inside. Mediocre food. Had the pineapple special fried rice, great presentation but really bland in taste. Also had the lava roll, nothing special about that either. The lemonade was a powdered drink mix :-( I had really high hopes for this place but I don't think I'll go back.

Last night I had a sushi craving and Yelp came into my rescue. I must say, this review is just for the food, since it was pick up only. I had the Avocado and the Veggies rolls, and aged tofu. Great flavors, I must confess. However, while waiting for my order to be ready, I noticed that the staff is not the most professional you can expect for a place this expensive. The waitress was not friendly and when I asked her about their veggies options she had no clue. She looked at me like I was from another planet. Thank God it was a take out order, otherwise, just for the service I would give this place 1 star.

Chill environment, cool place to hang out and have a beer with friends. Their sushi is quite good and always taste fresh. Waitresses are attentive and friendly. I plan on going again soon.

I've been coming here for years and even though is somewhat expensive I tend to come once in a while. I am so upset we ordered a shrimp fried rice and it ONLY brought 3 pieces of shrimp!! I called and spoke to the manager and all she said was "it's a better deal if I get the special fries rice for $12" are you kidding me? That's horrible!!! The sushi is good but their customer service really sucks!

Ayayay... We were seriously anticipating a delicious dinner here. But it surely wasn't the case. Let's start with the good news: the guava sake and the lychee sake. Pretty good! The ambiance of the restaurant was cozy, modern and very clean. Our waitress was awesome. It went downhill once we got our appetizers (in terms of the food that is... just to be clear). We ordered veggie spring rolls, shrimp dumplings (shrimp shumai) and pork dumplings (pork shumai). The spring rolls were very good, and were served with a spicy sweet and sour sauce (I love that sauce). The dumplings were gross; bland flavor and they served it with a heavy, thick mayonnaise sauce. Dumplings are already heavy, so I didn't grasp the concept of serving it with a heavy mayo sauce. We didn't finish them needless to say. For dinner, I ordered chicken fried rice, and hubby ordered the avocado roll and the spicy tuna roll. DISGUSTING. The fried rice was bland, and the chicken had zero flavor. I put soy sauce on it to maybe help, and it did, up until I came across a big honkin' piece of salt. I spit it out, then kindly told the waitress to take it back. The spicy tuna tasted like bad fish, and the avocado roll was not good either. We did order Thai donuts for dessert and those were great. I can't say I will return here. Note to business: please reevaluate the cooking recipes and step the quality up. The quality doesn't match the prices at all. I've had much cheaper Japanese food that tasted 3x better.

Not impressed at all. We found the food to be quite horrible. There was a TV blasting music and that was so tacky. The food just kind of sucked.

  • Jennifer T.

Place is decent. They always have music and videos to keep you entertained. Service is always great! They are very attentive and sweet. I always bring my dog and sit outside to eat and relax with us after a long days of work. The food is delicious but the menu just seems like they just trade of a different item and make a different sushi roll. Lol. Pretty pricey... But most decent sushi around this area but can't complain. Some nights they put too much rice and it just fills us up. Side note.... I don't know why they have a Thai Buddha statue in a Japanese place. But if it works! Oh well.

The sushi is ok. The prices are ok. I probably wouldn't go back because it's not that great. I've had better sushi for less money on south beach so... Anyway, it's nice to try new spots. Sushi Sake - Tried it!

Every time we order we try out different specially sushi rolls. They are all always amazing. We live close by and delivery is super fast. Recommend the Miami heat, nfl and calle8 rolls. So good!

Very very disappointed with delivery. Ordered food and 1 hour and 45 minutes later it still never made it. I spoke with the manager who had some very poor excuses. I honestly believed they forgot. He offered a percentage off on my next order... Why not now? Won't be buying food from there anymore!!

I am so disappointed with both the food and service. When the food arrived it was cold and over cooked. Sent it back and was not even given an apology. When I asked if I could change my white rice to fried rice I was told it would be an up charge of $6!!! This is on a $13 meal. The sushi I had was pedestrian at best. I will never come back. As an aside, there was no toilet paper in the ladies room for my dining companion. Save your money and have much better sushi right down Biscayne blvd at Ginza sushi buffet.

I read the reviews and against my better judgement, I ordered because they deliver to Aventura and I figured we'd try a new place. Bad move. I ordered two rolls and a tuna appetizer for my husband. He disliked both rolls. The crunchy tuna, the "crunch" tasted stale and there is WAY more rice than fish. The other roll, not a hit either, one bite and $15 thrown literally in the garbage. I will give kudos to both the lovely woman who answered the phone, she was very nice and informative. Also, the delivery driver was SO nice. Food arrived promptly too but the issue was the food itself. We will not be ordering or dining at this establishment again.

Let's just cut to the chase man the food is perfect and the service SUCKS. I walked here with a friend since it's about a block away from the house. Two blocks max. The place is PRETTY. Very clean, with a red black and white theme and a cute print on the walls -- totally instagram worthy. However, we weren't here for pictures (I'm growing) we were here for some eats ! The host came over; a nice gentleman who brought some waters and the edamame we ordered, and he answered some questions we had about the menu. // END GREAT SERVICE HERE We ordered a few rolls and sat watching music videos for about 30 minutes before our order was ready. The music wasn't the only entertainment, though, as the young lady with the blonde hair put on a show because she wasn't happy about something and was talking her mess to another coworker utilizing her outside voice about 10 feet from us. The host went over to listen to her, and I think he was trying to fix the situation, but in the meantime our food was done sitting by the chefs and I had to ask her if that was our food and it was brought over. IT WAS AMAZING. The rolls are huge I really only needed the shrimp tempura roll and the California rolls were standard. I won't return, because for it to be so pricey ($40 for three rolls and edamame) the service should be better. Meh

A friend and I ordered a variety of appetizers (veggie spring rolls, steamed shrimp shumai, ika deep fried squid) along with a veggie fried rice and a "yummi" roll. Unfortunately, it wasn't very good. It was ok..but nothing to write home about. There were no noticeable veggies in the spring roll or the rice...just minuscule little squares of something..so small you couldn't tell what they were...was that a carrot? Was it a little broccoli spore? Maybe it was the tiniest shred of cabbage? The squid was huge, poorly fried, and so chewy. The shrimp shumai was filled with some sort of mush...again...nary a shrimp to be found. Sorry, I wanted to enjoy..but did not. 2 stars because..although not cheap (at all), delivery was fast.

This was a last minute pick. Change of plans last minute so we thought we would try this place out. It was good. No complaints on the food but in my opinion this is WAY over priced. 10$ for 5 shrimp. to me it's not worth it. But if this is an every once in the whole thing than go for it ..

Stopped in for lunch with the wife for what I would call emergency sushi. Basically we were hungry from our drive home from Orlando, and knowing we had no food at home we stopped off here for what I was hoping would be a nice lunch. $12 I suppose is a bargain price for a sushi/sashimi lunch, and the flavor definitely reflected that we gave up on some of the quality. My wife, who initially wanted sushi in the first place, barely even finished half of her food - I tried one piece and it was quite bland. While I had no trouble polishing off my food (8-piece sashimi/sushi), I was a bit disconcerted by the lack of soap in the men's room... especially in a sushi restaurant where chefs are very much hands on. A few things I feel could have improved my experience dramatically: 1. Turn down the ridiculous pop music videos 2. Offer fresh ginger... people know now the red-pink stuff is crap 3. A whats with the squirt-bottle wasabi? 4. The lunch side salad is useless no matter how hungry. We didn't get sick, but for a $30 lunch I expect more. I'd feel bad giving only 2 stars, even though I'll probably make a short drive to other places in the future.

Amazing sushi and presentation for dinner today. Complimentary cotton candy at the end wraps up the meal nicely. Great service and chefs. Definitely a must-try. Favorite sushi restaurant by far!

Me and my boyfriend went for his birthday and we love this place. Our server made the night perfect! He was funny and helpful. He even took it upon himself to get everyone working together to sing happy birthday with a big sparkler. We always go here and will continue to :)

Sushi Sake has the best sushi I've ever had! The Lightweight is my all time favorite! The Miami Heat and the Out of Control are also good, depending on what you like. Sushi Sake is always playing r&b and hip hop music and has a good atmosphere and vibe. The prices are reasonable also. The best part is the after dinner free cotton candy! For really great sushi I recommend Sushi Sake!

I finished my gymnastic class not far away from sushi sake restaurant. I decide to eat some sushi and sat down at the outside table. It is 5 PM there is nobody else except me waiting at the restaurant table outside. After a long time waiting ,the waitress came up and asked me if I would like to eat or just sit around. (Obviously I was judged by my sport looking clothes, messed up hair and flip-flops, that I am not a guest that would eat at the restaurant). I order sushi roll and sushi . Sushi was good except the Ikura - fish eggs was dry. , like they prepare it and keep it in refrigerator. I asked for eel sous ... After finish all meal I was waiting another extended time... I stand up and went inside to pay for it. I discover that I have to pay extra one dollar for Eel sous! Usually it is free in Any Japanese restaurant! I have NOT bin notnotify about extra charges while I order it and have bin told later during payment that all detail in the menu. They making $ on people who don't look at the bill or menu under the magnify glass. All I have to say about this place is greedy and disrespectful! Bad vibe! Inconsiderate staff! :(

I've been to the one in Brickell and this location several times. I just have not reviewed this NMB location.. so here it goes. My 5th time here and never had a bad experience. Service is always polite and swift. The place is always clean and love the ambience..dim lighting..exclusive music videos playing in the background but low enough to have a conversation. I always order my 2 favorite rolls...Dolphin Roll and Miami Heat Roll...both comes hot in foil! They're a bit messy to eat cause they fall apart but they're definitely yummy :) Try their different house sakes too. The best part about this sushi place is the location. Its 10 minutes from my house, plenty of parking and it's open late. Will keep coming back for more!

This is actually my favorite sushi restaurant to go to. Each visit is consistent with the quality of the sushi and the service. My favorite roll is the Volcano roll. It is topped with crab meat and leaves you extremely full. I highly recommend this place. Not to mention that they have delivery service and is open until about 2AM on weekdays. Perfect ambiance for a date too!

    (5)
  • C D.

Well...didn't expect much but was almost just okay...20 bucks for 2 rolls...my biggest criteria for grading sushi is freshness of fish...they use sauce on the rolls that make it difficult to tell what type of fish it is...let alone the freshness...that being said...the sauce wasn't bad...just unexpected and moderately overpriced for this "different" style of sushi. I probably would not eat here again...but I would come again if the group was going...2.75 stars.

Miami heat roll & anything they do tempura is amazing. They have lots of rolls. Service is friendly. Music vibe is nice. Restaurant always clean. Price is okay not that bad. Great experience.

  • Julia K.

Sushi was great. We got the tuna tartar and the trio of ceviche to start. Both were excellent. The rolls we got were also delicious. The only thing that threw me about the whole experience was that they don't have real crab. And crab is in most of the rolls, they also put cream cheese in a lot of the rolls, which I'm not a fan of at all. I thought the fish was really tasty though, and when I avoided both the cream cheese and the Krabstick, I was pretty satisfied with my meal! I also LOVED the free cotton candy at the end. Such a fun and happy way to leave!

Inconsistent quality of food and bad service. I work near by, so I still order from from them sometimes. Last time I ordered takeout I waited 2 hours for my food... And they sent the wrong roll.

    (1)
  • Chi D.

Terrible service! It was so slow and they were not even busy! I ordered a couple of their special rolls which were 18$ each. I left so unhappy. Oh by the way did I mention that a female worker sat down right before her work shift and straight up was applying her make up right night to our booth. So unprofessional!! I definitely will not be back.

  • Tanisha D.

I always have a wonderful time when I come to this restaurant. The service is quick and efficient. The food is always freshly prepared -- with amazing presentation. I have been here at a variety of times during their business day and the experience is consistent across the board.

  • Tricia S.

Good food, but really overpriced. Rude service...We won't go back. It is miami, but the price for a strip mall, whole-in-the-wall, like this was ridiculous. I'd you are in the area, go to Tiny Thai house instead. Better food and better priced. Also, when the server makes a mistake. They should not come back to the table and tell you how much their mistake cost...that is just rude and unprofessional. Save your money. Go somewhere else!

FOREVER is how long it took to get the food or anything for that matter. However when it did finally arrive it was very good with a few small exceptions. It's a shame because the food was really very good but the service just really was...... torturous.

Now this was the first Sushi Place I went to when I started college in Miami. That being said it was a great. My expectations were high and it was right on the money. The food was nicely decorated and the taste was just amazing. Like honestly sushi is just fish wrapped in rice and seaweed it doesnt get much simpler so what I look for is the sauce and the taste of the sushi roll and it was awesome. Since I have tried almost all of the rolls. Best Rolls - Vanessa Roll is my favorite. Followed by Angel roll. Followed by Miami Heat Roll. Something you must try if you like raw fish is the Tuna Tartar in its spicy kimchi sauce.

I love the volcano roll! It was delicious.. And the surprise cotton candy at the end was cool! Service was sub par.. It was empty and our waitress came only twice for the food and to give is water... Meh Bt the sushi was worth it and I loved the atmosphere!

The waitresses need to be taught to please the customer. An $150 order and they want to charge for spicy mayo that costs sushi sake nothing. The outcome? No tip.

I give it 3 stars because I didnt really enjoy what I had delivered. But thats more of a personal problem hah. I'm not big on sushi..something about it makes me nauseous but dammit I intend to love sushi. lol So I order the Angel Roll which is with shrimp tempura (always a good choice) but the sweet eel sauce that comes at the bottom of the roll soaked my whole roll & i think that was the overwhelming factor. Too sweet. I also didnt like how it had alot of rice, like wrapped around twice in rice. There wasnt enough shrimp to taste :/ Honestly I do think anyone who loves sushi would love that roll. so although I couldnt finish it because of the overwhelming rice & sweet sauce, it was delicious to start out with. I would visit this restaurant If i get a chance, and see what else they have to offer. UPDATE: Ok had the leftover roll and it wasnt half bad. The fact that I was able to eat it again speaks highly of the quality and me liking it. I was surprised that the avocado was still edible. Of course the rice a little hard from the fridge, but hey I was not about to waste expensive sushi. I actually manage to take off the rice from the bottom that was soggy from the eel sauce. On some of the pieces I even took all the rice off and just ate what was wrapped in the seaweed. That was even better. The crab, shrimp & cream cheese were delightful on my tongue. Sushi is still a mystery to my stomach so I'm still trying to figure out what i like best. I'm learning as I go :p So as far as delivering quality sushi goes, this places gets a thumbs up.

The WORST Sushi Sake ever. I will never go back to this place. I am a Sushi Sake Regular, I have probably ate from 5 different locations and this location has to be at the bottom of the list. First off the rolls seem to be smaller than others, but what really got me the the horrible management. I ordered take out and when I got there I decided I wanted to eat in. It was on a week night so the place was fairly empty, the manager made a big scene about it as if I was eating take out from another restaurant. I felt like they were unprofessional and decided to call cooperate which was no help at all. I would not recommend that anyone goes here, if you are in the Biscayne area there is a good sushi place down the street called Thai House 2, go there.

    (2)
  • Dan L.

The worst Sushi ever, had take the unfortunate pleasure of having takeout from them tonight. The sushi was not very fresh and was not presented in an appetizing fashion. For $32 you got shrimp, imitation Crab, tuna, salmon and white fish and that it not even a side salad.

Good sushi, stay away from the cooked dishes. Service is horrible, just get take-out or delivery

The place was inexplicably packed for late Sunday night, given that the service was so blah. We were seated immediately, but we sat for about five minutes before a waitress greeted us and then another five before she brought us water. At least the Patriots/Texans game was on, so we weren't tempted to start playing with the dangerously tall oil lamp on our table. We were sitting right in front of the server's station, but even when other servers and the manager, who was chatting up the two cougars at the table next to us, saw we were left to fend for ourselves, no one came to our rescue. Despite the slowness, the edamame appetizer came out fast. We also ordered two avocado rolls, which were a great value at $4 each for a ton of sushi. We ordered the spider roll for $12, good but pricey, and a veggie roll, which was great but slightly pricey at $10. I would have left this meal feeling utterly disappointed were it not for the free cotton candy. The sugar high made me temporarily forget the poor service and high prices. And made me feel not so crushed that the Patriots won yet again. Problem is that there's always the crash after. My advice is to go to the Brickell location. There's lots of good stuff there besides just the cotton candy.

I go at least 4 times a month! I work near by and love it. Very fast service you don't have to wait for too long, obviously the food is fresh. The restaurant it's very modern looking in the inside and relaxing. The prices are great my favorite roll the Tempura Bagel Roll is only 8.00$

  • Camilla L.

Angel roll is so tasty and very filling. It's the best sushi roll I've had, but I fully recognize that it's not "real deal" sushi. The tacky ambiance and odd waiters are this place's biggest downfall. The cotton candy is a little weird too. I would go more often if it wasn't for the blaring music videos and impersonable waiters.

Things I love: Their Angel Rolls Things I don't love: Finding hair in my Angel Rolls The funniest fact is that I am that disgusting that I just tossed the one piece with that one hair out and kept going. But once I ran into my fourth long black string of hair, I called it quits and tossed the whole dish. And LOL that when I placed my second order and told them about it, the girl just said "Oh, Okay, Wow" and didn't even offer compensation or anything like that. As if they were relieved they weren't expected to make amends. I got so creeped out I don't know if I can be back.

LOVE this place! Last night was my 2nd time but will be back more often for sure.We live right down the street last time I went I got the fried rice which was some of the best I've ever had. This time I had a Tuna Tataki craving that just wouldn't go away! and boy did this place satisfy my craving. Also got fried rice this time too. My only complaint is that the cotton candy machine was broken but was promised 2 the next time I go...ohhh yeahhhh!!! The BF loved it too and he is kinda picky. . Ambiance is great and love the music videos. Thank you Sushi Sake will be back!

I would give this place zero stars, but have to give it one star to write a review. I have eaten here twice, and the service was HORRIBLE!!! The food hands down is very good, the Miami heat roll is delicious but to wait an hour And half for the roll is ridiculous! I wanted to give this place another chance so I called for deliver. When placing the order at 6:50 I was told it would take 45 mins to an hour. I called at 8:08 and the host told me it would be another 5 mins. I received a call at 8:35 from the delivery man saying he was sorry and he is running late. I told the delivery man I no long wanted my order. There rolls may be good but they are not worth the wait!!!

I am beyond dissapointed in food, service and management. I've been twice to this place and both times I have left upset. Not how I want to feel after a lunch or dinner. First time I ordered 2 different lunch specials and after waiting 30 mins to get the food the order was completely wrong. The management didn't really do much about it, just added 2 extra pieces of sushi and never comped or discounted anything for the inconvenience. She didn't really seam like she cared to make sure we left happy. The second time I ordered a miso soup and it came out cold and with barely any seaweed or tofu, when I asked to replace all the waiter said was ok I'll reheat it. When it came out it was super hot, it smelled and tasted horrible! The management heard my complaint and didn't say anything to me or the waitress. By the way it was completely dead, I was the only one there. I will never go back or recommend for you to waste your money and or spend your precious time here. Sorry but I have to warn people! :/

Great, well-priced food, sub par service. Don't know if that's a good trade off. I don't really go to a restaurant for service, I go for food but this one is one where I would have to say service is kinda bad. I've been to this location 3 times; The first time was great, not very busy at lunch time surprisingly there was still room for seating immediately, the server came up to me right away BUT when I started asking him questions about the menu as in 'What's good here?', 'Would you recommend this?', 'How is this prepared?' and I kind of felt his responses were basically I don't really know, just hurry up and order. So I ended up getting a lunch shrimp fried rice. It took about 25-30 mins. it tasted great! But I was a little unhappy with the indifferent server. Second time I visited I visited with a date, we had a great server who was very attentive, knew a lot about the menu, explained the different flavors of sake and even recommended what sake she would order with what meal. She was really great, but the food took FOREVER to come out. We'd only planned on spending about an hour in the restaurant by the time our food came out it'd been almost 2 and a half hours later, of course everything was good, and I left full and satifised. The last time I visited here, service was so SLOW. I walked in, and was expected to be greeted by a server/hostess right away like usual but when I walked in (alone) everyone sort of peered at me as if I wasn't supposed to be there. So I just kept standing there until someone screamed across the restuatant 'Just sit where you'd like!'. I took a seat and waited about 15 mins. for a server to approach, they took my order, about 30 mins. later food came out, server disappears for about 25 mins after I'm done eating, they reappear and take forever to process my check... I was not happy.

My review is not about the food, but about the service. I went to this place to eat lunch on a sunday afternoon with a friend. NO OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE PRESENT and there were two or three servers there. We came in and a girl rushed from the back to seat us and handed us two menus. Then she left and we never heard from her or anyone else again. They did not even bring us water. Another couple came about ten minutes after us and they seated them and gave them water. We decided what we wanted then waited and waited and waited. After about twenty five minutes or so we got up to leave and saw the servers stuffing their faces in the back room. That's what I call Crap service. I will never go back there again. The prices were a bit steep anyways. I prefer Hiros on 3007 NE 163rd St or Yakko Sans on 3881 NE 163 St. a bit pricey but amazing food!

I love the Sushi, delicious and large rolls. I usually sit for dinner or pick-up, I don't really do delivery cause the one time I did they kinda upset me by telling me I had to pay the toll to get to my house, which they only mentioned once they were at my door. The one thing that I really dislike about this place is that they nickel-and-dime you for sauces. If you order extra spicy mayo they will charge you about $1.00 for each, which is why I never leave a tip when I go for take-out, I only leave a tip when they don't charge me extra. It's their loss. Otherwise, the sushi is great and the service is usually really nice. again, love the rolls!!!

The shrimp fried rice is absolutely delish! That pink sauce is highly addictive (you've been warned)...my favorite part is the cotton candy surprise at the end...it's on the house and heavenly if you like that sort of thing. By that I mean you should definitely like a yummy sugary treat at the end of your meal or you are nuts. Their rolls are also really good...the last one I had was the Angel Roll, and I can guarantee you will not be disappointed.

I love sushi and eat at all the local sushi places... BUT this place always messes up my take out order!! When i say always Oohh boy do i mean always. I live around the corner from this place and order here quite frequently. I always emphasize "please do not forget my shrimp sauce for my stir fry land and sea dinner" or even easier "please bring me spicy mayo & eel sauce"! Its like I'm talking to a freaking wall. Maybe i should just learn my lesson and stop ordering take out from here. If they could get my order right they would have 5 stars! GET IT TOGETHER. sushi sake on 87 is on point. =)

Been here a few times, first Sushi restaurant I've ever been to. Its a really cool little place, the food was good. And the theme is pretty awesome. This place is right across my apartment and apparently they deliver.. I'll have to try that out sometime.

Love this place, its small and cozy, nice modern decor. Its a great choice if you want to get dressed up a bit and have some good sushi for a good price. AND they give you free cotton candy at the end of your meal !

so my boyfriend and I have been to Sushi Sake quite a few times...and we loved it! unti last night... we hadnt been in a while so when we decided to go, we were super excited!! but when we got there, we werent seated in the first section towards the front like we usually were... this time we were escorted to the second part, which i thought COOL! we get some privacy!! WRONG!!!! we were seated RIGHT NEXT to the register....so the entire time the staff was hanging around in front of our table....very awkward and uncomfortable. Now, on to the food... we both ordered the Miami Heat roll, like always because its our favorite! But they must have a new chef or something because for some reason....couldnt quite figure it out but it taste a bit different... dont get me wrong it wasnt bad.... it just wants the same.

Had lunch here on a Monday afternoon. Got a bowl of miso soup. Delicious. The bowl was huge!! Then got a California eel roll. 10 pieces. Also, huge and yummy. The eel was sweet. Also had the seaweed salad with just the right amount of spice. They give you complementary cotton candy at the end of the meal. The place is spotlessly clean and the wait staff is very attentive. I will be back.

First time eating there and despite the reviews online about their service I decided to give it a chance with two other friends of mine. Service was as others had posted horrible and I probably wouldn't go back. Decor was nice simple and clean and there was only one other person there when we sat so having to wait 10 mins to have someone ask us if we would like something to drink and provide menus was a bit long in my opinion. Another 10 mins later the waitress came back and took our order and even though she wrote it down; it came out wrong. It pains me to say that the sushi was not that great. We ordered California Roll, Miami Heat Roll, Spicy Tuna Roll & Volcano Roll. The Volcano roll was the best one out of all of them but Sushi Sake wouldn't be my first choice for sushi ever again. Waitress refused to admit that the order was wrong but the manger did come by and apologize so that earned them the third start in my rating. Overall, I wouldn't to this location but I have read great reviews about their South Beach location; may go there next time.

NEVER AGAIN. i can not comprehend how any other of the other reviewers could think that anything coming out of this place is even remotely edible. After being told it would take 35 minutes for the delivery (it was 4pm when i called, not exactly a bustling restaurant hour), it finally showed up 1 hour and 20 minutes later, sans chopsticks, soy sauce, or dipping sauce for tempura. The dragon roll was soggy, smelled fishy, the avocado was almost brown, and the shrimp inside was like rubber. Not exactly what I'd call tempting. The edamame was shriveled and quite obviously old. The fried rice was so overcooked and greasy that i had to wash my face moments after taking a few bites. All of this, and I found it a tad overpriced for being in a strip mall in North Miami. No thanks.

HORRIBLE! STAY AWAY! Let me just make it short & simple I found a hair in my chicken fried rice , I told the waitress & she still charge me for it. My boyfriend order a dragon roll & it had a funky taste to it & now he is sick. This place used to be good when they first opened , now it's just overrated & the sushi is not even all that.

Relaxed atmosphere and good food. Started with veg spring rolls that were recommended by our waitress and were superb. Also tried the Miami heat sushi roll and king crab roll that were delicious. Waitress was helpfull, attentive, and really nice. Will definitely return.

So the place is beautiful. The food was great. Our server on the other hand not so great... I will say Alexis was awesome she recommended me the Miami heat roll and it was amazing! ( she was more attentive than our server ) and she was very nice. For a Wednesday night I think the service could have been better. "I'm almost done with my dessert and I still don't know my servers name :("

I must say that I'm a Fan and I deliver from there all the time. Their regular delivery guy is extremely friendly, and always take good care of my order. The location is small but it has a trendy design. Not such a big fan of the excessive amount of TV's for such a small place though. The best way to enjoy going there to eat in is when you're coming home late from a night out and want a quick bite before heading home. As for the Sushi. my favorites are their Angel Roll, Miami Heat Roll, Pink Panther Roll and Calle Ocho Roll, along with their Sashimi appetizer. They are delicious and well worth the price. I ordered once on a Monday, and as they always say...don't order sushi on Mondays, as you will get the leftover sushi that was brought in before the weekend. So I stick to delivering Thursday through Saturday. All in all, I Love their sushi.

When I first walked in, I was like, wow this place is small! But the decor is nice though not too creative---black and red are the theme colors typical of Japanese-American sushi restaurants. But expect friendly sushi chef, servers, Lady Gaga and Beyonce music or whatever music videos played on the TVs, and yes, cotton candy. Although I was so stuffed with the "Miami Heat Rolls (which is sooo delicious) and their "Green Salad (comes in larger bowl than other jap restaurants)," I still had room for strawberry-flavored cotton candy. And I believe the flavor changes from time to time, since it was grape the first time I went. But definitely try the "Yummi Roll" because it tastes just as good as the name sound and while you're at it, have some sake, which is what my friends and I did after our final exams!

Decent Sushi at a decent price, food comes out when it's ready, not in course order. Service is young and average. Food is very good. Sorry to read about you Lindsay! I've eaten here half a dozen times and I haven't gotten sick yet. Best thing about this place is the fun, hip ambiance and the cotton candy that comes out with the check. Not fine dining, but a clean, fun place for sushi

Ok Just went back tonight and they are still cleaning off the tables with windex. Not cool when you are eating to sniff the windex. Also- sake was 11 bucks a pop and this roll I have was 16. I ended up spending 90 which I think was too much for this place. Its good, but not that good. I think Im gonna give this place a break.

The food is good but a tad pricey. We were talked into getting the a roll. We don't love tuna so the server suggested substituting salmon on the roll. Tasted delicious but were surprised when the bill came and they charged us for the salmon. One star lost for the bait and switch. Another star lost for the servers being more preoccupied with DJ-ing music videos on the TVs rather than serving us our sushi.

Amazing... Always fresh and a great vibe! Must try the homemade sake its really good. You have the option of a few flavors. Don't forget the cotton candy at the end of each meal

I never at in the restaurant, but I always ordered from here because they were open late and I love sushi. My personal favorite is the dragon roll, always in a timely delivery, prices aren't too steep, and definitely fresh and tasty.

I feel as if when new restaurants try to be too trendy, something is lost. Disappointingly enough, while this hipster restaurant is decked out with flat screen tvs, retro wall paper and chic red bamboo dividers, it lacks something every great restaurant needs, good food. I'm a fan of japanese food, but what they decided to serve on a platter mimicked your local mall-style fare served on ceramic plates. The Age Tofu was bland and unremarkable while the chicken teryaki had the texture of microwaved poultry swimming in a moat of maple syrup. The saving grace was the sashimi. While it wasn't an orgasmic experience, it was quite decent. Overall, I feel like this place is overpriced and is better suited for a "2-for-1 sake bomb monday's" type of night rather than a decent japanese dinner. If you are looking for authentic cuisine, go elsewhere. If you want to dine with likes of miami beach's ed hardy aficionados, come to this trendy, strip mall locale. I must say that the wait staff was impeccable. They were quite attentive and genuinely friendly without being obnoxious. Furthermore, to add to the authenticity of every meal, you get complimentary, homemade cotton candy after your meal. Yeah, insert puzzled face here. Cheers!

Hi, I'm Abi, and I am a cotton candy junky. These 2 stars are because of the fact that you get some delicious, flavored, melt in your mouth spun sugar after a meal. That is: if you ever get the attention and a menu to order some food from.. I have been there 3 times. The first time would've *possibly* gotten 4 stars (because I am a nice little Yelper, it was my birthday (good mood) and like a said: cotton candy). The 2nd time would've gotten a low 3. This last time would've gotten 1 but to be fair, I am averaging all of this out to 2. We were seated, waited about 15 minutes and never even got menus. Caught eye contact with the zombie-like hostess multiple times and still: nothing. I guess they were all just way enraptured by the loud AWESOME house music. We got up and walked out as they apologized about 10 minutes too late. Sounds trivial-but 15 minutes feels like a long time when you are just sitting waiting to be noticed at a restaurant you are bound to spend a pretty penny at. Not going back-strictly on principal. Cotton candy and all.

When I noticed that Tokyo Bowl (my favorite drive-thru in Miami) closed down, I was crushed -- but starved. I drove up the road and hit the strip mall. With Sushi Sake smack in the middle of a strip mall with Jamba Juice, Starbucks and Einstein Bros, my expectations were low....real low. I ordered a $10 lunch combo. Service was quick. Food was good. The ambiance was strangely, surprisingly quite pretty. This little restaurant has a trendy, funky atmosphere....kind of a bonus. I wouldn't want to come on a Friday night, but starved and stranded in North Miami, the sushi was just fine for me.

Sashimi was not fresh, soft and discolored. It was also haphazardly cut with uneven thicknesses and at random angles.

Small place but great for sushi and sake bombs! Their open till 5am on Fridays and saturdays and they deliver! They always have music videos playing so your entertained while waiting for your food. The sushi is always fresh and very and very yummy! The Miami heat roll is my favorite.

Or should I say "sushi sucky", was terrible. Sushi was bland and the service and staff were terrible. Cream cheese in just about everything. Very Americanized sushi. Never going back.

This place has the worst sushi I have ever had. I come from South Carolina and they have better sushi... The staff(Vanessa) was rude, food was overpriced and the fish wasn't fresh. Super bland. If you want sushi go elsewhere.
